Founded on April 27, 1987, the iconic Michael’s On East restaurant takes fine dining to another level, offering award-winning cuisine and outstanding service, in an exceptional 1940s supper club atmosphere. Michael's On East was one of only ten restaurants in the nation to be inducted into the 2009 Nation's Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame, considered the Oscars of the restaurant industry. After 25 consecutive years being recognized with the “Award of Excellence,” Michael’s On East was presented its first “Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator in 2017 and was recognized again with this distinguished award in 2018. The legendary restaurant is Sarasota’s only AAA Four Diamond Award restaurant, receiving its 30th consecutive AAA Four Diamond Award in 2020.
Now a part of Sarasota’s history, Co-Proprietors Michael Klauber and Philip Mancini have built their unmatched reputation for exceptional service and inspired cuisine on the principle that "each guest should be treated the way they expect to be treated," every moment of each and every visit. Located at 1212 East Avenue South in Midtown Plaza just south of Downtown Sarasota, the contemporary fine dining restaurant is open for dinner 5:30p.m. to close Tuesday through Saturday. Michael’s popular Happy Hour menu featuring select Hand-Crafted Cocktails and Private Label Wines is available in the Lounge 5p.m. to 7p.m.., Tuesday through Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, with the exception of Easter and Mother's Day each year. The restaurant’s Private Dining Room can accommodate up to 48 guests. Michael’s On East Catering is Sarasota’s premiere caterer creating memorable events from candlelit dinners for two to dazzling galas for 1,000 guests held at any venue.
The Michael’s On East Ballroom in Midtown Plaza can host up to 550 guests for a seated event or 1,000 for a reception. The Ballroom is easily partitioned for smaller, more intimate gatherings. The stunning glass-covered garden atrium space works beautifully for cocktail receptions.

Michael's Wine Cellar
The newest addition to the Michael's family is the hip, urban Michael’s Wine Cellar which hosts more than 1,000 International estate-bottled wines. The Wine Cellar also offers premium & boutique spirits, imported & craft beers and more than 200 boutique wines under $20. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6p.m..
Retail store by day, the unique space is transformed into a magical space by night. Michael’s Wine Cellar hosts rehearsal dinners and seated events for up to 100 guests and up to 200 guests for receptions. Innovative Cocktails & Culinary Adventures at Michael’s On East
Epicurean Adventures Michael’s Epicurean Adventures present culinary journeys to a new destination each month at Michael’s On East. The three-course dinner menus are available Tuesday through Saturday evenings for $38.95 per person. Palate pleasing locations will include South Africa, Tuscany, New Orleans, Peru, Japan and the Caribbean to name a few. Guests are invited to add perfectly paired wines, available $15.00 for the hand-picked white and red pairing or $8.00 per glass.

*NEW* Wine Cellar Social Club: Michael’s Wine Cellar has introduced a new recurring event that will soon become the premier Thursday night destination in Sarasota. The “Wine Cellar Social Club” is a combination of a traditional wine-tasting and a contemporary social event. It’s a place for wine-lovers to come together to enjoy fine wines with great company.
The $35.00 cover includes 6 unique wines paired with a tapas-style appetizer plate. Keeping the safety of guests in mind during COVID-19, tables will be separated by at least 6’. Guests may reserve a table for groups of 2-6 people. Limited seating available.
