Marilisa Allegrini & Anthony Truchard Headline an Exceptional February
New Michael's Wine Cellar Store Manager Tesla Weighill is creating a buzz among wine enthusiasts with an impressive array of February bookings. Three of the world's most renowned wineries and vineyards, Allegrini, Lapostolle, and Truchard, will hold events at Michael's Wine Cellar next month. These will not be any ordinary wine tastings as the first Italian woman to be featured on the cover of Wine Spectator, Marilisa Allegrini, and Truchard Vineyards General Manager and visionary, Anthony Truchard, will be on hand to guide guests through an intimate evening of fine wines.
Nestled in the cradle of the Valpolicella Classica, Allegrini's vineyards yield prestigious wines, stemming from the company's winemaking style and its exclusively estate-grown grapes. The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica winemaking since the sixteenth century. Marilisa Allegrini, a member of the sixth generation of the Allegrini family, became one of the first women to successfully promote wine, as well as the Valpolicella region throughout the world. In 2020, Marilisa was awarded the Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of Italy, a national honor bestowed on "those who have been singularly meritorious" in agriculture, industry and commerce. Marilisa Allegrini and Allegrini Winery will be at Michael's Wine Cellar on February 6th.
The Truchard family wine tradition began in the U.S. in the late 1800s. Today, the Truchard estate covers 400 acres and houses an amazing 11,000-square-foot wine cave. Among the wines produced by Truchard Vineyards are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec, all of which are estate grown. Anthony Truchard grew up and has been working in the family vineyard since he was 12 years old. Today, Anthony oversees all aspects of the family business and works tirelessly promoting his family's wines. Anthony Truchard and Truchard Vineyards will be at Michael's Wine Cellar on February 23rd.
Weighill completed the perfect trifecta by announcing the booking of one of Chile's greatest winemakers, Lapostolle Winery. Located in one of its country's most famous valleys, the Colchagua Valley, Lapostolle Winery is an icon for wine production in Chile. Lapostolle strives to create world-class wines using French winemaking philosophy and the superb terroirs of Chile. Today, the vineyards span 188 hectares planted to Cabernet, Carmenere, Merlot, and Petit Verdot along with Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Cinsault. Lapostolle Winery will be at Michael's Wine Cellar on February 22nd.
