The Dick Vitale Wine Dinner is being underwritten by Michael’s on East with all funds from the evening going directly to the Dick Vitale Fund for Pediatric Cancer. This nationwide program has made enormous strides in helping families and communities around the world since 1993 and contributes 100% of donations entirely to the programs and research of finding a cure for children suffering from a diagnosis of pediatric cancer.
The evening will feature an exquisite five-course dining experience, including world-class wines perfectly paired with each course. Executive Chef Jamil Pineda has designed a sumptuous, five-course menu honoring the exquisite flavors of Tuscany, Italy for just for this event. Highlights include Chianti-Braised Short Rib Osso Bucco and Pan-Roasted Mediterranean Branzino. This Wine Dinner will be showcasing the award-winning Italian wines of Castello Banfi - The Jewel of Tuscany. The Mariani Family (Banfi proprietors) is underwriting the special wines for the event. Dick Vitale, college basketball’s most well-known analyst and ambassador, is a Sarasota local with quite the heart for philanthropy. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the V Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer in children. This Wine Dinner in Michael’s Wine Cellar is one of his annual Sarasota-based events benefiting the V Foundation and its efforts to save lives both within our community and across America.
